r/Health – You’re not getting enough sleep—and it’s killing you: “The decimation of sleep throughout industrialized nations is having a catastrophic impact on our health, our wellness, even the safety and education of our children. It’s a silent sleep-loss epidemic.”

My body (well, probably my brain) has a habit of waking up in the middle of the night and saying, ‘that’s all the sleep you get tonight’. After trying all the tips on the 3 million ‘get more sleep’ articles out there, I actually tried going without caffeine for about 3 months, which didn’t help at all. Eventually, I had to get back on the drug, as trying to fulfill adult responsibilities while being a zombie all day just didn’t work for me 😛

Edit: Exercise, no alcohol (which I don’t consume anyway), no sugar, no caffeine after noon, low stress, new mattress… pretty much all the standard tips, I’ve tried them all.
