I cut out all cane sugar and switched to stevia and lost 45 lbs last year, and I actually exercised less.
I’m sorry, but any study that suggests fake sugar will make you gain weight is laughable. Real sugar is so fucking bad for you, it would be utterly insane to keep eating it and to not eat sugar replacements.
Cutting out all actual white, cane, table sugar is the best thing you can do. Zero. None.
But I highly doubt anyone in the study did that. They most likely ate both, so then people like me aren’t believed. But honestly, it doesn’t matter. I lost the weight and I’m proud of myself for holding down my diet.
