D-St Buzz: Over 200 stocks hit new 52-week low on BSE; Tata Motors, YES Bank fall 7-8% each

The Indian benchmark indices have slipped deep into the red once again in this afternoon session with Nifty down 54 points, trading at 11,167, while the Sensex fell 201 points and is trading at 37,116.

Nifty IT added half a percent led by Infosys, Tata Elxsi, Tata Consultancy Services and Tech Mahindra.

From the auto space, Tata Motors is down over 7 percent followed by Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors DVR, Motherson Sumi Systems and Exide Industries.

Media stocks continue to drag with the index down close to 3 percent. Zee Entertainment shed 5 percent followed by Zee Media, Dish TV, TV18 Broadcast, Sun TV Network and TV Today Network.

From the metal space, the top losers are Jindal Steel & Power, SAIL, Tata Steel, Hindustan Copper, JSW Steel and Jindal Stainless among others.

India VIX spiked 5.82 percent at 28.71 levels.

The top Nifty gainers included Bajaj Finance, Eicher Motors, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Indian Oil Corporation and UPL while Tata Motors, YES Bank, Zee Entertainment and JSW Steel are the top losers.

The most active stocks were Zee Entertainment, Reliance Industries, YES Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance and State Bank of India.

Titan Company, DCB Bank, UPL, DCM Shriram, Merck and SRF have hit new 52-week high on NSE.

138 stocks hit new 52-week low on NSE including ABG Shipyard, Apollo Tyres, Eveready Industries, ABG Shipyard, Global Offshore, IL&FS Transportation Networks, Mcnally Bharat Engineering, Mcleod Russel and Mercator among others.

From the BSE, 240 stocks have hit new 52-week low including YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Jet Airways, Hindustan Copper, Cadila Healthcare, Jyothy Labs, INOX Wind, Motherson Sumi Systems, Apollo Tyres and Graphite India among others.

The breadth of the market favoured the declines as 720 stocks advanced and 992 declined while 389 remained unchanged on the NSE. On the BSE, 1065 stocks advanced, 1418 declined and 197 remained unchanged.
